Dr David M. Spitz is the founder and clinic director of the Chiropractic Health Center of Bristol, located in Bristol, CT. Since 1982, he has treated thousands of patients for various conditions ranging from neck and back pain, to migraine headaches. He specializes in treating patients who have suffered whiplash injuries and/or back injuries in a motor vehicle accident.
Dr Spitz did his undergraduate work at Hunter College in NYC while working as a volunteer at the Maimonides Medical Center emergency department Brooklyn. A graduate of Cleveland Chiropractic College, where he was class president, he interned in Kansas City, MO; and is a licensed Chiropractic Physician in Connecticut, and New York. Dr. Spitz is a diplomate of the National Board of Chiropractic Examiners, and a fellow of the International Academy of Clinical Acupuncture. After several years in practice, Dr. Spitz continued his education by taking a 3 year post-graduate course in neurology, and by taking various courses on improving patient health with lifestyle changes, treating patients with headaches, and much more.
He is currently an expert on chiropractic for Quora, and has been an expert witness for numerous court cases involving automobile injuries. In addition to seeing his regular patients, Dr Spitz has been a consultant for several companies where they require a second opinion for one of their patients.
Dr Spitz was a volunteer EMT-I and a lieutenant for several years at the Burlington Volunteer Fire Department. He has lectured throughout CT on various topics including, chiropractic, stress management, headaches and preventing back injury in the workplace.
In 1998 Dr. Spitz became a pilot, and in 1999, an instrument rated pilot. His love of flying has encouraged him to fly from Washington State to Connecticut, and throughout all of New England.
Since 2009, Dr Spitz has practiced Kyokushin Karate and received his black belt in 2013. In December 2019, Dr Spitz was promoted to 2nd degree black. He continues to study the martial arts to continue to develop both physically and mentally.
As part of his goal of educating the community on natural healthcare, Dr Spitz, has had numerous personal appearances on several radio talk shows (listen here to one of his appearances), and has been a frequent lecturer on the subject of chiropractic care, headaches, neck/back pain, and stress. Dr Spitz is dedicated to helping his patients achieve optimal health through lifestyle change and stress reduction.
